| Few things in life are free, even the best things. So, we have to carefully and responsibly handle our resources to the best of our ability. We receive some limited rebate of member dues paid into USLacrosse, and we really have to have more resources than these rebates. Fortunately, we have some endowment funds which earn income, limited income, and we always appreciate what we are fortunate enough to receive. |
| We know that we need volunteer help for events and our program services. And we know that corporate sponsors will want to have corporate employees participate as volunteers in our program services, and this committee is intended to coordinate these efforts. The chapter is a California Non-Profit Corporation, and we have requirements with which we must comply. In addition, we have an agreement with USLacrosse with which we must comply. And, we must assume that our best laid plans may from time to time, well, you know, go awry, and we must be prepared to fix what needs fixing without unreasonable delay. And it is a reality that no one has ever address the development of lacrosse in Northern California to the extent that the chapter is now undertaking, and we just don't know everything. So, when we recognize a need to do things better, we will do just that. |
| This is an area where we are most grateful for the help we have, and we would welcome more help. We publish "CrosseTalk" and need all the content we can get for this newsletter and our website. Press Relations is an area that many lacrosse people would like to see improved, and so would the chapter. We have multiple openings for interested persons. No experience necessary. And one need not be a lacrosse player to participate in this important effort. Reliable people who follow through should contact the chapter as soon as possible. |
| From time to time, lacrosse teams and even leagues become fragile. Having recognized this reality, we have established our committee to assist such member programs. Our assistance will be to help build the abilities and strengths necessary to become a viable program. We will not take over or operate a program for or on behalf of disinterested participants, however. |
We have an endowment fund, and we would welcome more such funds. We welcome contributions from those who are able to help us, and we will meet with you to coordinate your generous contributions. While we can accept contributions designated for specific purposes, we must comply with federal and state laws. Most contributions to the chapter are tax deductible.
However, contributions to the chapter designated for a specific purpose by which a contributor or contributor's family or family member will directly benefit, will unfortunately not create a tax favorable contribution. In other words, we cannot convert an expense of participation into a tax deductible expense. But, unrestricted contributions are, of course, deductible. |
