NORCAL LACROSSE FOUNDATION
Northern California Chapter of US Lacrosse
The Northern California Lacrosse Foundation is an independent non-profit corporation which is dedicated to promoting and supporting the growth of lacrosse in Northern California by providing programs and services to inspire participation while protecting the integrity of the sport.
In 1998, the Foundation became a regional Chapter of US Lacrosse, the national governing body of lacrosse. We support the leagues, clubs, teams and organizations which operate in Northern California by offering start-up loans, scholarships, loaner equipment, coaching and officiating development programs and educational events.
The Northern California Lacrosse Foundation was started in 1986 by NorCal Lacrosse Hall of Famer, Sam Sadtler. As the first President he enabled the funding of the foundation through the generous endowment left by Peter Faulkner. Pete was instrumental in starting the Palo Alto lacrosse club in 1965 as well as the first youth programs in Menlo Park. The Faulkner Fund provides funds for projects which increase the scope of participation and the quality of players, coaches, and officials in Northern California.
The Diane Whipple Fund was established in 2003 to carry on the wonderful spirit of the talented young head coach of St. Mary's College (Moraga) women's lacrosse who had a major impact on everyone who knew her. The Whipple funds are available for the advancement of girls lacrosse programs and individual scholarships.
